Efficiently using a web browser

Efficiently using a web browser

Date: 18-Dec-2013

Many people use the internet all over the world. They make use of The Internet to take care of their shopping, studying, communication, socializing, news, general entertainment, and even in some cases doing work.

Sizing so many things up is a lot of work. But people like the idea that they own machines that can be relied upon for when they feel the need to show off. They like the idea of giving people the impression that they can make great decisions.

But this can cause problems. The browser of today needs lots of memory. The browser of today needs lots of RAM. The browser of today also offers all sorts of frills that might look useful more often than not. But, since, unfortunately most people do not know how to effectively use web browsers, they consume lots more space than they ideally should.

When a web browser normally loads, it loads with many associated services and tools like the flash player, pdf viewer, dictionary, antivirus, video download manager, general download manager, code viewer, apart from other add ons which might include themes and special behaviour. Most people do not realize that a web browser needs around 1 gigabytes or even more to be able to handle a few tabs open with so many enabled extension, tools, and add-ons.

People can start having a better browsing experience by disabling add-ons, extensions, and tools. They should also try to limit the number of open tabs. They should ideally not open many tabs or windows with video advertisements and other multimedia content.
