Using virtual page views inside Google Analytics can give you the deepest information about Web site activity that you’ve received since analytics began. Obviously, we get more improved results and ways of tracking with each passing year, but virtual page views was a change that has had as much impact as the start of analytics itself.
For some time, analytics have allowed you to create event tracking — actions within your pages that you want specific data for — but the addition of virtual pageviews and even more detailed event tracking now allows Web site owners to get granular and create data about certain actions that can be used to make design, marketing, and site architectural decisions.

The ongoing growth of social media may indicate that we should look beyond a Yahoo-Microsoft merger and other algorithmic-based search engines and explore the possibility of search becoming less important.
If people started using social media more, and advertisers thought they could get better results for their money in that arena, search engines would be impacted by the loss of income. Even if they just moved away from content search advertising, the loss of income for the big three would have a major effect.

Google has added a feature to Gmail, which allows users to merge all of their duplicate contacts into one. Until now, users have had to go through contacts one-by-one in order to clean up their list.
“Managing a big address book can be a challenge, so it’s no surprise that the top request for Google contacts is a fast, easy way to merge duplicate contacts,” says software engineer for Gmail, Dominik Marcinski.
The feature comes as a button in the contact manager that says “find duplicates”. You can review the merge suggestions and uncheck any of Google’s suggestions that you don’t actually want merged. Then, just hit the merge button, and you’re all set.

Fatal comparisons are made between the widely energetic developer responses to Google Wave Application yesterday with the relatively warm response to Microsoft’s new search engine Bing. The real interesting contrast to us, as independent software developers, is the way developers responded to Silver light as opposed to the reaction yesterday to Google Wave Application. Both Silver light and Wave are aimed at taking the Internet experience to the different level. To be perfectly honest, Silver light is a great piece of technology. Google Wave Application, as yet, is not much more than a concept and a declaration.

With each passing day, We find no need to remember the dictionary justified terms like normal, super-human or handicapped. Our english language tells us that a blind man is necessarily handicapped. But what would you call a person who has developed software programs which can read aloud complex solutions of Rubik’s cube, has modified Google search engine for blind users and have worked for Adobe, IBM and now Google? To tell you the least important fact that I have missed out is, he is blind from the age of 14. And the most outrageous revelation is he is going to make a touchscreen mobile phone for blind users.

Smart Internet search will be able to do with a mobile device in the NEAR future
A mobile device with Touch screen, built in camera, scanner, WiFi, google map (hopefully google earth), google search, image search…
Like this way, when you can see a building through it, it gives you the image search result right on the spot.

Choose a building and touch a floor and it tells you more details of the building. You can use it when you want to know a car model, an insect name, what kind of food is served at a restaurant and how much, who built a bridge, etc. etc.
